Security E-Mail Alert
Downtown Visions and the Wilmington Police Department have partnered to establish an emergency communications network called the Security E-Mail Alert List. This email list provides timely information to businesses, major employers, property owners, hospitals, residential groups, community leaders, law enforcement, first responders and private security representatives, among others. Information sent out via the Security E-Mail Alert network ranges from incidents having an immediate & serious impact on traffic and downtown safety (fires, accidents, severe weather, etc.) to information from the Wilmington Police Department concerning crime trends, notable arrests and other matters which effect the perception of downtown safety. We also send out various messages and press releases from the Office of the Mayor. For more information or to be added to the list, email Michael Maggitti at mmaggitti@downtownvisions.org.
Downtown Parking Committee
Downtown Visions facilitates discussions with the leaders of all downtown parking entities and members of the Wilmington Police Department to discuss crime trends and current patterns specific to parking venues. This Committee and Downtown Visions work with the Police Department to aid in the apprehension of criminals responsible for thefts of and from vehicles.
