Funding the BID
Funding for Wilmington's Downtown Business Improvement District is provided primarily by property owners of 776 parcels who pay an annual charge directly to Downtown Visions based on their property tax assessments. Other sources for the operating budget come from proceeds from our for-profit subsidiary, Clean & Safe Services, Inc. as well as a contract with General Services Administration. The properties with the top 10% (highest) assessed values pay approximately 80% of the overall assessments.
